A Bottom Man assists the Pipe Layer in tasks involving assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitary sewer, as well as watermains at municipal and building projects.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Assist Pipe Layer in all their regular duties Align pipes in pipeline sections Grade and level trenches using tamping machines and hand tools Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using pipelasers and transits Covering pipes with appropriate bedding materials Position RequirementsSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS &
Experience:
Experience in the industry preferred, but not required Ability to work safely in/around trenches and heavy equipment Basic reading, writing, and math skills Strong verbal communication skills as well as hand signals Ability to lift 80 pounds Have a positive work attitude Problem-solving abilities Punctual and On-Time Must be able to pass a background check and drug test Valid driver's license Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative ActionPI226554905 Recommended Skills Assembly And Installation Communication Hand Signals Heavy Equipment Mathematics Problem Solving Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
